Noor's Journey: A Labor of Love

Noor's Journey: A Labor of Love
I did not choose food, food chose me." This simple truth is the foundation of Noor Indian Fusion Kitchen. For us, food is about connection, about warmth, about moments that stick with you. "I want food to create memories- Memories that we cling on to and memories that one could relive always." And that's the experience we strive to create for every guest.

Starting a restaurant is never easy, but starting one with a six-month-old baby adds a whole new level of challenge. When we first began, I was hesitant to dive straight into a brick-and-mortar space. Instead, we launched as a cloud kitchen—a way to test our food, understand our customers, and refine our craft without the high risks of a physical location.

For two years, we poured our hearts into building our brand, perfecting our recipes, and searching for the perfect location. Finally, we found it—in Berkeley. The moment we signed the lease, life threw us another surprise: we were expecting our second daughter. With permits, renovations, and the entire setup process ahead, the goal was clear—get the restaurant up and running before I entered my third trimester. It was a race against time, but we did it.

Our vision

Our vision
Our vision for this restaurant was always different. We wanted to redefine the Indian food experience, not just serve another generic menu. Our approach? Home-style cooking techniques that take time but bring out flavors in a way that’s worth the wait. We grind our own spice blends in-house to retain their freshness and depth. Many of the dishes on our menu are what I grew up eating—meals that carry the warmth of home.

is to share the love
Every dish we serve tells a story, just like our journey. From a small cloud kitchen to a full-fledged restaurant, from one baby in our arms to another on the way—this has been a labor of love in every sense. And now, we get to share that love with you.
